Electric Jelly Labs Ltd — Music Practice Manager · Last updated: May 2026
Music Practice Manager (the "app") is operated by Electric Jelly Labs Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with the Music Practice Manager website and the Music Practice Manager macOS app. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
You can contact us at: support@musicpracticemanager.com
1. Who we are
Electric Jelly Labs Ltd

Email: support@musicpracticemanager.com
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers:
- our website at musicpracticemanager.com; and
- the Music Practice Manager macOS app.
It does not cover third-party websites, services or content that you choose to open or use with the app (for example, online courses, video sites or files you select). Those are governed by the privacy policies of the relevant third parties.
3. Information we collect
From the website and when you contact us:
- your email address, if you contact support, register interest, or ask to receive product updates;
- your name, if you choose to provide it;
- the content of messages you send to us;
- basic technical information needed to operate and secure the website, such as server logs and IP address.
When you buy a licence:
Purchases are handled by our payment provider and merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy (see section 6). Lemon Squeezy collects the information needed to process your purchase, such as your name, email address, billing address, payment details and location (for tax purposes). We do not collect or store your full payment card details. We receive limited order information from Lemon Squeezy, such as your name, email address, country, and order and licence details.
When you use the app:
- Your practice data stays on your device. Your library, playlists, notes, settings and similar information are stored locally on your Mac in the app's own data store. We do not collect, transmit or have access to this information.
- Licence activation and validation. When you activate or use a licence, the app sends your licence key and a device identifier to Lemon Squeezy in order to confirm your entitlement and enforce the limit on the number of devices. This does not include your practice data.
- Update checks. The app periodically requests a small file from our website to check whether a newer version is available. Like any web request, this may involve your IP address and basic technical information being recorded in server logs.
4. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- provide the app and your licence, and validate licences;
- process orders and provide updates and support;
- reply to enquiries you send us;
- send product update emails where you have asked to receive them;
- keep the website and app secure and prevent misuse;
- meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
5. Legal bases (UK GDPR)
We rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the app, fulfil your order and validate your licence;
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure and improve the website and app, and to respond to enquiries, in a way that is not overridden by your rights;
- Consent — to send you product update or marketing emails (which you can withdraw at any time);
- Legal obligation — to keep records required by law, such as for tax.
6. Payments and billing
Payments, billing and tax are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record for the sale. This means Lemon Squeezy is the seller for the transaction and processes your payment information under its own terms and privacy notice. We do not collect or store your full payment card details. Please review Lemon Squeezy's privacy notice for details of how it handles your information.
7. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information.
We use trusted service providers to operate our business, including for payment and licensing (Lemon Squeezy), website hosting, and email. These providers only process personal information as needed to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information where required by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
8. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses) to protect your information.
9. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the app and support, managing customer and licence relationships, and meeting legal and accounting obligations. You can ask us to remove your email address from our product update lists at any time.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your personal information, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@musicpracticemanager.com.
If you are in the UK and are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
11. Children
The app is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app may be used by a child to organise their own music practice under the responsibility of a parent or guardian; in that case, any personal information involved should be provided and managed by the parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
12. Cookies and analytics
Our website is intended to operate as a simple site and does not intentionally use advertising or behavioural tracking cookies. If we add analytics or cookies in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website and app develop or as the law changes. The latest version will be published on this website with the "Last updated" date above.
