Updates and Upgrades
Your licence includes free updates for the lifetime of your major version. Should a new major version ever be released, upgrading will be optional — your existing version will always continue to work.

When you purchase a Music Practice Manager licence you receive free updates for the lifetime of that major version. For example, if you purchased any 1.x release, every subsequent 1.x update — including bug fixes and new features — is yours at no extra cost, and the app lets you know when a new update is available.
Should a new major version be released in future (for example, version 2.x), upgrading to it would be a separate purchase. The upgrade would be entirely optional — your existing version will continue to work exactly as before.

Back up your data
Before updating, we recommend making a backup of your practice library. Your data will remain intact after installing the new version, but a backup gives you peace of mind if anything unexpected happens.
Get the latest version
Music Practice Manager checks for updates when it starts and lets you know when a new version is available. On Windows, the Microsoft Store installs updates automatically — there's nothing more to do. On macOS, download the latest version from the Download page.
Install on macOS
Open the .dmg file and drag Music Practice Manager into your Applications folder, replacing the existing version. Your licence and practice library carry over automatically — there's nothing to re-enter.
Installed on Windows without the Microsoft Store? If you used the direct installer from Other Download Options, updates aren't installed automatically — download and run the latest installer from that page. Your practice library carries over automatically.
Your data is safe. Music Practice Manager stores your library data locally on your device. Installing an update does not remove or overwrite your existing library. We still recommend taking a backup before updating, just to be safe.
